A Tribute to Dad
At an early age, Dad taught me the importance of connecting with God and spending time with Him. He took me to church even though I was reluctant. When Mom was sick, we went to church on a week day and prayed for her. Dad was faithful.
I don’t ever remember being without food, clothing, shelter, all of the basic necessities and much more. Dad was a provider.
I felt safe with Dad around because I knew he would watch over me. Dad was a protector.
Dad fought in three wars, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He suffered many injuries, including getting shot in the leg in Korea, for which he received a Purple Heart. He broke both legs and his neck and fought back after every one of these setbacks. Dad was a fighter.
Dad offered his support and encouragement in all of my endeavors. Dad was a supporter and encourager.
Dad befriended many people, such as the servers in restaurants. Dad was kind and friendly.
Dad taught me to never exclude anybody and to look out for the underdog. Dad was compassionate.
I love you Dad and I miss you.
